Patients choosing to have surgical procedures will typically be required to have a preoperative visit, prior to their procedure. This visit allows the patient to ask the physician any further questions about the procedure which the patient may having regarding the surgery, recovery period, wound care, and any other topics of interest to the patient.
A packet of preoperative information will be given to the patient, and reviewed by staff. A physical will be performed by the physician to assess the patient’s health prior to the procedure to ensure a safety. The patient will be given medical clearance forms to be filled out by their primary physicians and any pertinent specialists, to verify the patient is medically stable to have the procedure. Prescriptions for lab work will also be given. The physician and staff will once again go over all instructions with the patient to ensure they are physically and mentally prepared for their procedure.
