This young woman underwent septoplasty, inferior turbinate reduction, and open rhinoplasty. The patient sought conservative and natural appearing results without the appearance of an “overly done” look. The patient also had complaints of nasal obstruction. Septoplasty and inferior turbinate reduction resulted in marked improvement in the patient’s nasal breathing. Rhinoplasty involved reduction of a large dorsal hump and refinement of the patient’s profile.
Due to the fact that a large hump was removed, spreader grafts were placed to prevent possible postoperative breathing or aesthetic complications. The patient was very pleased with the results and looked forward to return to college to display her result.
