Facial Beauty…Expertly Crafted

Ten thousand hours of practice is often said to be requisite to the total mastery of anything. Applying a blend of art and science to his canvas, the human face, Dr. Anthony Corrado has fulfilled that requirement many times over and cemented his place as one of the Philadelphia area’s finest rhinoplasty specialists.  Intimately addressing anatomy, perfecting proportions, and restoring balance to achieve the “golden ratio of facial and nasal aesthetics”, Dr. Corrado dedicates himself to expertly crafting facial beauty.

What is Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty, commonly known as a nose job, is the most popular procedure Dr. Corrado performs. After all, the nose if the most prominent focal point of the face.  More than any other part of the face, one’s nose is like a fingerprint, differing by anatomy and ethnicity.  Rhinoplasty can be a life-changing surgery both cosmetically and functionally. Cosmetic flaws can be corrected to create a nose that is in better balance with the rest of the facial features. Cosmetic improvements in all aspects of the nose, including the nasal dorsum (nasal bridge), nasal tip, and nostrils, can be achieved with rhinoplasty surgery. Functional improvement can also be achieved by correcting nasal obstruction. The overall goal of rhinoplasty is to optimize nasal form and function.

TYPES OF RHINOPLASTY

Primary Rhinoplasty

Primary rhinoplasty is a cosmetic procedure designed to reshape and change the appearance of the nose. This refers to a rhinoplasty procedure which is performed on a nose which has not underwent prior surgery.

Tip Rhinoplasty

Tip Rhinoplasty refers to aesthetic nasal surgery solely performed to improve the appearance of the nasal tip. Specialized techniques such as cephalic trim, tip suture techniques, cartilage grafts, as well as other sculpting methods are used to create an ideal nasal tip.

Functional Rhinoplasty

Functional rhinoplasty is a surgery which is focused on correcting nasal obstruction to improve nasal function. This procedure typically involves correcting nasal septal deviation, nasal valve collapse, and possible inferior turbinate hypertrophy. Functional rhinoplasty can also correct airway compromise resulting from nasal trauma.

Revision Rhinoplasty

Revision rhinoplasty, otherwise referred to as secondary rhinoplasty, is a nose job procedure performed to correct functional or cosmetic concerns resulting from a primary rhinoplasty. Revision nose jobs are among the most challenging of all types of nasal surgery and require the skills of an experienced rhinoplasty surgery. Scar tissue, cartilage damage or deficiency, and patient expectations are some of the complicating factors involved in revision rhinoplasty.

Ethnic Rhinoplasty

Ethnic rhinoplasty typically refers to a “nose job” which is performed on patients of Non-Caucasian descent. Patients of Asian, African, Hispanic/Latino, Indian, and Middle Eastern descent request ethnic rhinoplasty to enhance their appearance. Different ethnicities exhibit unique anatomic features which need to be addressed by an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon. The goal of ethnic rhinoplasty is to cosmetically improve the nose while maintaining a patient’s ethnic appearance.

Male Rhinoplasty

Male rhinoplasty seeks to create a balanced, proportionate nose while maintaining proper masculinity. A strong nose provides a male character and strength of appearance.

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty
(“Liquid Rhinoplasty”)

Liquid rhinoplasty is a nonsurgical option for some patients who wish to not proceed with traditional nasal surgery. The procedure utilizes common Hyaluronic Acid fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane which are injected into the nose to address issues such a dorsal hump, nasal asymmetry, and contour irregularities. The results of the procedure are temporary, and the filler will dissolve and be resorbed by the body over time. The procedure is performed in the office while the patient is awake with minimal discomfort. The results are immediate and there is typically very little if any downtime. The procedure is typically not suited to treat severe nasal deformities. The non-surgical nose job cannot make a nose smaller.
